1.HOW TO READ WHATSAPP MESSAGE ON PC

Does it bother you if you cannot find the time to check your phone and read WhatsApp messages while you are busy looking at your computer? Or do you simply want to view or share certain WhatsApp messages from PC but have no idea how to do it? There’s no doubt that it would be absolutely convenient and would save lots of time if we can read WhatsApp messages with just a few clicks on PC.

Go to WhatsApp Web.

Open the WhatsApp on your phone. Click the menu at the top right corner and choose “WhatsApp Web”.

open whatsapp web

Now, use your phone to scan the code which shows on the WhatsApp webpage.

Log into your account and then you can read WhatsApp on computer.

2.PIN AN IMPORTANT CHAT

Typing names of important people in the search bar or scrolling down to get to their chat history might get time consuming and monotonous every time you want to converse. WhatsApp allows you to pin chats of three contacts on the top. Swipe a chat to the right and tap on the pin icon to get it to the top (iOS) or hold a chat and tap the pin button once selected (Android).

3.MARK CHATS AS UNREAD

Mark a chat with a dot if you read a message but are unable to immediately reply. This will serve as a reminder for later. On iOS, swipe the chat to the right and tap on the unread icon, while on Android, press and hold the conversation that you wish to mark unread.

4.STOP MEDIA FROM BEING AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOADED

Not always would you want forwarded pictures and videos to be saved to your gallery automatically, which lessens space in your phone and may reduce processing speeds. Tap on settings, then chats and turn off the ‘Save to camera roll’ option in iOS or ‘Show media in gallery’ in Android.

You can also change preferences in media download for individual chats. Open a specific chat and tap on the name of the contact or group at the top. Open ‘Save to Camera roll’ option (iOS) or ‘Media Visibility’ (Android) and choose from settings suitable to you.

5.DELETE ACCIDENTALLY SENT MESSAGES

Messages that are accidentally sent can be removed from the receiver’s inbox as well. Select the message and tap on the option ‘Delete for everyone.’

6.CHANGE PREFERENCE OF THE TEXT LANGUAGE

You don’t have to necessarily chat in English language on the app, which offers the option of several other languages. Go to settings and select chats, then tap on app language and choose the one you want.

7.CHANGE FONT

This feature allows you to format the text and convert the plain font to italics or bold. Start and end the text with an asterisk to make it bold; similarly, begin and end it with an underscore to make it appear italicized. A tilde in the beginning and end will make a strikethrough appear on the text.

8.BOOKMARK MESSAGES

There might be something important in a chat that you would want to bookmark. WhatsApp allows you to do that by starring these messages. Open the specific message in a chat, hold down the message and then press star.

9.BROADCAST A MESSAGE TO MULTIPLE CONTACTS PRIVATELY

A public message can be sent privately with the help of Broadcast list on WhatsApp. A message sent out to a list of contacts will be received as individual messages by them. Tap on Broadcast on the left corner of your screen (iOS) or the menu icon (three vertical dots) at the top right corner (Android) and add contacts for sending messages.

10.ADD DATES TO YOUR CALENDAR

In iOS, press and hold a date mentioned in a chat to create an event. This will automatically add the event in your calendar directly from your message.

11.CUSTOMIZE ALERT TONES

You can customize the alert tones for each chat conversation on WhatsApp. This could help you distinguish which conversation each message is coming from. You can set this up by tapping on the name of the chat window and then tap Custom Tone. Then select the specific tone that you want for that group or individual chat.

12.EXPORT A CHAT

In case you want to export a chat conversation to your email or computer, you can do so by utilizing the Export Chat feature. This can be found by going to the Group Info or Contact Info of a chat by tapping on the name of the conversation at the top.

Then tap on Export Chat towards the bottom. You will then be asked if you want to Attach Media or export Without Media. Note: Attaching media generates a larger chat archive.

Once you make your selection, you will be asked where to send the zip file. That zip file will contain the media that you exported along with a text file of the conversation.

13.FORMATTING MESSAGES

You can highlight portions of your text using bold, italics and strikethrough, but the way in which you do so is not obvious. Here is how you do each of those options:

Bold - To make a portion of the text in bold, it requires an asterisk at the beginning and at the end of that text (*example*).

Italics - To make a portion of the text italicized, it requires an underscore at the beginning and at the end of that text (_example_).

Strikethrough -  To strike through a portion of the text, it requires a tilde at the beginning and at the end of that text (~example~).

14.FORWARDING MESSAGES

If you receive an interesting photo or video in a conversation, then you can forward it so you can avoid having to save the content and send it again as an attachment to another contact. This can be done by pushing down on that message and tapping forward.

15.LOCATION SHARING

WhatsApp allows you to share your real-time location with users or you can quickly send your current location. You can do this by tapping on the + icon in a conversation and then tap on Location. Then you can decide whether to share your Live Location or your Current Location.

The Current Location feature can come in handy when you are in a location that is crowded or an area that you are not familiar with.

16.REPLY TO SPECIFIC MESSAGES

If you want to reply to specific messages in a conversation, then the best way to do so is by pushing down on that message and tapping on reply. This will show people in the chat that you are addressing a specific message by first linking to that message and then showing your reply to it.

17.SENDING VOICE MESSAGES

If you want to add some personality to your WhatsApp messages, then you could consider sending a voice message. This can be done by tapping the microphone icon next to the conversation box and recording the content that you would like to send. This feature will record what you are saying and then send it to your contacts.
